El partido es un claro 50/50, y encontrar cualquier cuota por encima de 3.25 a favor del Limoges es un gran value.

Con la plantilla al completo, creía en un partido intenso y defensivo por parte de los visitantes, y desde la llegada de Tabak como entrenador, han estado jugando un baloncesto más controlado, reduciendo pérdidas y velocidad de juego. Visitan a un Efes que ya está clasificado a siguiente ronda, y jugarán de una manera más relajada que su rival. Se caracterizan por un ritmo más pausado de juego, y la defensa es una de sus fortalezas. En Vitoria acabaron 64-76 para Efes, pero fue un partido extraño, ya que los vascos iban 48-30 al descanso. Espero un partido que esté en un total entre 140-145 pts.

They visit Efes, who is mathematically through to the next round, and will be playing in a more relaxed way than their rival. They play a slow paced Basketball, and defense is one of their strengths. In Caja Laboral they ended 64-76 for Efes, but it was a strange match, as the Basques were 48-30 ahead at half time. I expect the match to be in the 140-145 total points' bracket.

Reciben a un Siena cambiado, nada que ver con el que empezó tan mal la Euroliga, y están ahora a tope, en un estado de forma óptimo.Básicamente parece una repetición del partido de ayer en Berlín, así que espero un Chalon B contra Siena A.

I have been researching for information about Chalon's intentions tonight against Siena, as the french are out of the competition and without any goals apart from playing in front of their home crowd. There has been multiple external problems in Chalon, it all started with the home loss vs Alba Berlin. The french champion has shown weakness and lack of competivity at home, and has only managed to beat lower Asseco Prokom twice in the 8 matches they have played. They host a very different Siena, who started Euroleague very bad, but are now in high spirits, in an absolutely top form. It basically seems a repetition of yesterday's game at Berlin, so I expect a Chalon B team to face a Siena A team.

Tal es la poca importancia para el Alba Berlin, que el entrenador Obradovic ha decidido no forzar, y dará descanso a su máximo anotador Deon Thompson y a su 3º Nihad Djedovic, junto con las bajas de Avdlovic, Randle y Ney, incluso es seria duda Schaffartzik esta noche. Eso hará un equipo con poca rotación para medirse a Unicaja, que desea mantener la 2ª plaza, o incluso 1º e intentar aprovechar un tropiezo del Maccabi en Prokom. Su única victoria fue como local, ante Cajasol 87-84. Los españoles están 2-2 gracias a dos victorias ante Orleans, pero en ACB están 1-9, mejorando pero no lo suficiente para ganar partidos. Esto es muerte súbita, el que gane lo tendrá casi hecho para pasar ronda, el Cajasol automáticamente, Sassari dependiendo de sí mismos ganando a Orleans en Cerdeña en la última jornada. Teniendo en cuenta que los visitantes tienen mejor calidad en la plantilla y que los locales tienen muchos jóvenes inexpertos, creo que este partido está al 50/50, así que hay claro valor en Sassari a cuotas iguales o superiores a 2.50.

Entre Eurochallenge y Liga Adriática, Krka sólo ha perdido 1 de los 7 partidos como local. Pinar ya está matemáticamente en la siguiente ronda, con 4-0 y el basket average ganado contra sus paisanos del Tofas (2-2). Para que el Pinar mantenga la 1ª plaza no puede perder por más de 23 pts. (Pinar ganó en Turquía 76-53 al Krka). Con todo esto en mente, y con el importante compromiso en casa el domingo de la Liga Turca TBL, cuando reciben al líder invicto Galatsaray, espero ver al Krka ganar con cierta comodidad (6-7 pts mínimo). El Handicap es válido hasta -3.5.

Visitan la siempre difícil cancha del Bologna, que aún perdiendo jugadores de calidad del año pasado (Douglas Roberts, Koponen), se siguen manteniendo sólidos como locales, donde están 3-1 (y 3-1 ATS, HA cubiertos). Con el escenario presente del visitante y la dureza de los locales en su casa, espero ver al Bologna ganar mínimo por la decena de margen.

Bilbao tiene un ataque decente, pero ha sido su defensa la que les ha aupado a lo más alto de la ACB (y 4-0 en Eurocup), la que Fotis Katsikaris ha estado insistiendo desde la pretemporada, y los jugadores lo están haciendo de maravilla. Desde su derrota 98-84 en Real Madrid, en los últimos 5 partidos, el Bilbao ha sido capaz de mantener a sus rivales por debajo de los 70 puntos en 4 de ellos (sólo un 83-86 en Fuenlabrada), y creo que el Bilbao no anotará más de 85 pts., debido a su hábito de ralentizar partidos cuando tienen una cómoda ventaja de 10 o +, como se presupone va a ocurrir esta tarde con el débil Manresa. Espero que este partido tenga un máximo que ronde los 147-150 pts.
One of the top teams of the ACB Spanish League, Bilbao (7-2), hosts a team, Manresa (1-8) that last week managed to win their first match of the season. Bilbao have a decent attack, but what has made them go high in the Spanish League (and 4-0 in Eurocup) is the defensive effort, their coach Fotis Katsikaris has been insisting on this issue since the preseason, and the players are doing a great job. Since a heavy defeat at Real Madrid 98-84, in the last 5 matches Bilbao has played, between Eurocup & ACB, only one of its rivals has managed to pass the 70 points' mark (at Fuenlabrada 83-86), and I reckon that Bilbao will not score more than 85 points, due to their habbit of slowing games down when they are ahead by 10+ points, like it seems to be the scenario this afternoon against low team like Manresa. I expect this game to reach a maximum bracket of 147-150 points.

Valladolid está realizando una campaña extraordinaria, mientras que Fuenlabrada sufre mucho a domicilio, sobre todo con su pésimo ataque. Limoges ha salido del bache donde estaba inmerso, con 2 victorias seguidas, e intentarán hacerse fuertes en casa, donde están 1-3, ante un Le Havre muy débil como visitante, y con poco poder anotador para superar la defensa de los locales.

Acca of home team favourites that I find are quite superior to their opponents, but I prefer to wrap them up in a teaser, rathen than the market handicap lines. Valladolid are doing a great season, Fuenlabrada suffer on the road, especially with an awful offense. Así pues, con esto en mente, este partido carece de la tensión defensiva que se vio en Barcelona, donde los catalanes ganaron por 72-60 (línea total pts era 147.5). This match has lost any kind of interest, just merely to see if Barcelona (7-0) can keep a perfect run in Euroleague, as the defeat last night by Brose and Lietuvos meant that Besiktas are automatically through to the next round, and cannot go better than 3rd. So, with this in mind, this match lacks of intensity as the one played in Barcelona, where the Catalonians won 72-60 (total points line was 147.5). Barcelona have managed to score 80 points or more in all of their last 4 Euroleague matches, and Besiktas has left defense aside in their last 2 matches, 87-72 at Partizan (line was 147.5) and 83-72 against Brose (line was 146.5). I am expecting Barcelona to go over 80 points, which leaves Besiktas to score a minimum of 65, which I see quite possible lately with Barcelona's style of play, much more attacking and fast than the beginning of the season. Let's hope we end November in style with a win.

Alba es poderoso en ataque de local, y los 145.5 pts propuestos han sido cubiertos en los últimos 4 partidos entre BBL alemana y Euroliga. Prokom es un defensor débil a domicilio, y cuando los rivales toman ventaja, se dejan llevar aún más, 81-74 en Chalon, 93-62 en Maccabi, and 63-48 en Unicaja. Had to review the totals and found a slight gap in my calculations with the match held at Berlin, between Alba and Polish Asseco Prokom. The Polish are virtually out of the tournament if they do not win in Berlin and need a lot of combinations, so hopes are not strong. Alba has a powerful offense at home, and the 145.5 points proposed have been covered in the last 4 matches, between German BBL and Euroleague. Prokom as a visitor is weak in defense and once the rival takes the distance, they drop the arms even more, 81-74 at Chalon, 93-62 at Maccabi, and 63-48 in Unicaja. Ganar o morir en Belgrado para estos dos equipos, para intentar clasificarse a la siguiente ronda y aprovecharse de un grupo muy desequilibrado: Barcelona y CSKA, Besiktas enmedio, Brose, Partizan y Lietuvos para la plaza restante. La derrota por 8 pts en Lituania (69-61) debe tenerse en cuenta por el Partizan, ya que cualquier ventaja mínima de basket average puede ser crucial. Los locales siempre han sido famosos por tener una afición muy ruidosa y fiel, fueron capaces de forzar prórroga al poderoso CSKA, perdieron en un penoso último cuarto ante Brose (72-77, pero acabaron 3º cuarto 62-55), y por fin ganaron con holgura 87-72 al Besiktas. Lietuvos se está quejando de un calendario complicado, jugando contra equipazos en las últimas 2 semanas, incluyendo una derrota en casa el lunes en liga lituana 79-90 ante el Zalgiris. También han manifestado que se creen mejores que el Partizan, y no estoy de acuerdo, especialmente en un partido tan tenso como el de esta noche ante un pabellón lleno. Espero una victoria cómoda del Partizan, y el handicap es apostable hasta -7.5.

I expect a comfortable win by Partizan, and handicap is acceptable up to -7.5.

Como hacen en la NBA, las líneas de handicap y totales de puntos son los dos mercados más populares que se suelen emplear en baloncesto, y teniendo en cuenta que tan sólo llevamos 9 jornadas de liga en España, he pensado anotar los valores de handicaps cubiertos (ATS = Against The Spread en inglés) y los totales de puntos.
Las casas de apuestas, en su afán de igualar líneas, esperan que cada apuesta que hagamos a estos dos mercados, al final de la temporada, esté 50/50 (aciertos/fallos), por eso las cuotas de handicaps están igualadas, pero hay equipos con los cuáles uno puede encontrar valor, ya sea porque son sobrevalorados o subestimados.
Así queda la situación tras la jornada 9:

 

Haré unas puntualizaciones que pueden interesar a los apostantes/pronosticadores:

REAL MADRID
Invictos (9-0) pero sólo superan los handicaps 5-4, por lo que las casas están subestimando a sus rivales, sobre todo fuera, donde sólo cubren 2 de las 5 salidas. Los merengues, equipo over, 6 de 9.

VALENCIA
Balance espectacular (7-2) pero sobrevalorados por las casas en handicaps (4-5), y sin embargo muy infravalorados en total de puntos, donde hay 7 overs en 9 partidos.

GRAN CANARIA
7-2 y 7-2 en ATS, cuando ganan cubren el handicap, y viceversa. No es novedad que los canarios son equipo under, llevan sólo 2 overs en 9.

BILBAO
7-2 pero ganando justitos, porque están con 4-5 ATS, sobre todo fuera, donde sólo cubren el handicap en 1 de las 5 salidas.

CAI ZARAGOZA
Poco que decir en ATS, igual que su balance de victorias (6-3), pero es un equipo poco anotador, lleva 2 overs en 9, 1 de 5 en casa.

CAJA LABORAL
La crisis la llevan en Euroliga, porque en ACB están 6-3 y son infravalorados en ATS, cubren 7 de 9. Equipo over, con 7 de 9 (mejor que el Real Madrid).

BARCELONA
Pésimo arranque (5-4), el ATS fuera es de miedo (1-4). Y a pesar de la fama de la defensa blaugrana, llevan 7 overs en 9, 4 de 5 salidas, donde su defensa no funciona.

Poco que remarcar aquí, sólo un detalle, llevan 4 overs en 5 salidas.

UNICAJA
Tampoco hay mucho que destacar, aunque su defensa es importante fuera, con sólo 1 over en 5 salidas.

XACOBEO BLUSENS
Buen arranque, ahora estancados (5-4). Su ATS es pésimo como local (1-4), y son equipo under con mayúsculas, 2 overs en 9 y 4 unders en 4 salidas.

VALLADOLID
Todos les daban por descendidos, pero ahí están con 5-4. Son el mejor equipo ATS (empatado con Caja Laboral y Gran Canaria) con 7-2, y su gran juego como visitante se debe a sus 4 overs en 5 salidas.

JOVENTUT
El equipo al que nadie debería fijarse en estos momentos, no hay datos reseñables en cuanto a ATS y overs.

MURCIA
Su meritorio 4-5 se ve empañado por lo débiles que son como locales, donde sólo han cubierto handicap en 1 de 5 partidos. Equipo over.

CB CANARIAS
Todos pensaban que seguirían con anotaciones altas, tanto en ataque como defensa, pero las bookies han colocado bien las líneas (4 overs en 9). Lo curioso es lo subestimados que están, 2-7 en liga, pero 5-4 ATS.

No son tan malos como indica su 1-8 (3-6 ATS), puede que sea gracias a sus 6 overs en 9 partidos.

Visitan Valencia, quién estará sin Faverani ni Markovic, dos titulares, y ése es el factor clave, en mi opinión, para este partido (Kelati vuelve pero está fuera de forma): con un Valencia al completo, a lo mejor iría menos atrevido o incluso no me jugaría nada, pero creo que Barcelona ha llegado a un estado de forma óptimo, y su visita a Valencia llega en el momento perfecto. Brindisi es un ascendido de la Lega Due, y tras un difícil comienzo por calendario complicado (1-4), ha encadenado 3 victorias seguidas. Sinceramente considero a Brindisi favorito, y creo que el handicap debería ser Avellino +1.5 y no el propuesto de -3.5 en las casas de apuestas.
